Steve Jobs once said

“I want to put a ding in the universe”

If your school is seeking to put a ding in the universe, I’d love to help with that.

Hi there, I’m Jennie Moore

Quick Bio:

A former principal and teacher of many years, my teaching career saw me work across all areas of the primary sector. I haven’t ‘left’ teaching. I love teaching, but when the opportunity presented itself to make a difference for many learners (as in across New Zealand and beyond) I seized it! Update: Currently Acting Principal for 2-3 terms in a large primary school – loving it!

After so many years in education, I have managed to accumulate a wide array of skills, tools, and experiences. Having the opportunity to work with a wide range of schools over the last 9 years, has allowed me to learn from some outstanding teachers and leaders – you know what they say “once a teacher, always a teacher”, so I am constantly taking photos of class room and staffroom walls, main entrances, classes in action, playgrounds, and books.

The fact that you are here makes me happy. With all sincerity I hope that what I have to offer is what you are looking for, and what you need to fulfill your goals.

As you get to ‘know’ me, you will no doubt see a theme emerging – cooperation, engagement, safety, inclusion, and communication. These are what I am passionate about and I can’t see how anything can be achieved without them – no matter what age, curriculum area, focus, topic, or level. As a facilitator, these are critical elements to my role, and ‘how I roll’.

I operate at a high energy level with a ‘relentless restlessness’ towards learning, and relish new challenges and experiences. So when I came across Kagan at an intro session by Laurie Kagan, I knew immediately I wanted to bring Kagan Structures to schools in New Zealand. That was 2006 and I’m still here, working hard to share how we can make a difference for you and your learners – every day, in every classroom, for every learner.

Being authentic, approachable and available are instrumental to my approach to building a strong working relationship and becoming part of the team. Angus MacFarlane’s Educultural Wheel underpins our core values: Building Pūmanawatanga through Whanaungatanga, Manaakitanga, Rangatiratanga, and Kotahitanga.

For me, there’s beauty in simplicity and in the rapidly evolving world that is education today, it’s easy to lose sight of what is really important for learners.

I look forward to partnering with you, and offering my expertise, energy, and support with the aim of enabling you to meet your goals, and maybe help you make your ding in the universe.
