Almost Magical

Recently my principal came in to observe my classroom. She saw my class participate in several structures—an Inside-Outside Circle, Quiz-Quiz-Trade, and RallyCoach. She was very impressed and said that she almost never sees the level of engagement that she saw in my classroom. I owe that praise to my use of Kagan Structures.

My students love the structures. Since implementing a few of them, some formerly reluctant learners have become so engaged. Their energy, which previously expressed itself in off-task behavior, has been channeled into on-task behavior within the Kagan Structures. They love to interact and move; Kagan Structures use that natural motivation and energy to effectively focus students on learning in a fun and engaging way.

Tears of joy spring to my eyes when I remember some of those reluctant learners hugging me and emphatically exclaiming that I'm a great teacher or that they had so much fun. It is almost magical. My students have been practicing contractions and nouns and are having a ball while really learning the content!

I am so excited about the power and effectiveness that I have experienced with the Kagan Structures. In my sixteen years of teaching, I have never been more excited than I am about Kagan Structures!
