OUR SERVICES

Our Services

  • We offer a 360 service including: Needs Analysis; PLD planning & scheduling; implementation plans; and assessment and data gathering. We can ensure our workshop content fits with your local curriculum and strategic plan.

Kagan boosts the impact of many current and past initiatives such as PB4L, and RBL.

  • Kagan trainings cover anything from discovery sessions through to five day academies. Usually schools might start with an initial introductory session and then into a one or two day whole school workshop. You will see we have a wide range of topics, but we can also create a workshop just for you.

All workshops are delivered using Kagan Structures so they are highly interactive and engaging. We walk the talk!

  • Following any form of training, it is best to offer ongoing support to ensure uptake and implementation. Kagan trainers are able to model Kagan Structures with any class level using your content.

Kagan Coaching is a proven model to best develop teachers’ skills and build their confidence in using this new pedagogy. We can coach up to 14 teachers in a day. We would normally book these days in as soon as the first workshop has been confirmed.

Planning sessions are also key to helping teachers apply their workshop training to their class programme. We find teachers are very excited after the training, but some find it difficult to match the right structure with their content, and these planning sessions are a great help with seeing where and when to use a structure.

  • Our Cooperative Meetings workshop was designed specifically for school leaders so they can confidently use Kagan in their meetings, thus modelling best practice and what they want to see in classrooms. If it’s good enough for our students, why not for our teachers?

This fantastic two day workshop covers relationship development, professional development in-house, and decision-making strategies and processes.

  • Part of any PLD is to make sure it achieves what it sets out to do. We will develop a data gathering plan with you and assist with analysis and summarising the results.

This is most often done at the school level and kept in-house.

We can develop assessments and observation tools that will assist with measuring the impact.

Next steps are planned from here.

  • After schools have completed the initial training, and taken part in coaching, there are few options as to how to keep the momentum going.

One way is to identify teachers who are committed to Kagan and we then train them to become in-school leaders. They are able to model structures for their teams as well as accompany us on our coaching days so they in turn develop their capacity in providing feedback to their colleagues.

Another option is to continue with more specific workshops such as curriculum areas, ESOL, Win Win Discipline or High Risk Classroom.

Kagan NZ runs periodic catch-up workshops for new teachers. These are usually online so don’t require relievers. We can run them in your school if you’d prefer.

  • Jennie Moore is an MOE Accredited Facilitator, aligned with Blend Learning.

Writing up proposals for MOE funding isn’t always fun, but we have been successful with a number of schools so we have the expertise to support you with this.

  • Teachers engaged in Placemat Consensus at our Cooperative Meetings workshop.

  • Teachers discussing benefits of Kagan, using Think Write RoundRobin at our Day 1 Cooperative Learning workshop.

  • Teachers using RallyCoach to solve maths problems during our Day 1 Cooperative Learning workshop

  • One of our classbuilding structures, Give One Get One, during our Secondary Social Sciences workshop.

β€œThe power of Kagan lies not only in what it can do for schools, but what it can do for their communities.”
